Light of Dawn Book Sale Canceled

Well, I have some disappointing news.  So sit back and grab some popcorn because it’s story time!  (This might get a little long, so I’m going to put most of it under a cut.)

When Blue Moon was released in paperback, I set up a three day long free book promotion on the ebook version with Light of Dawn and Strange Brew being .99 cents.  I’d planned on doing the same with Light of Dawn (I believe I mentioned it in the announcement post) and a few days ago, I attempted to set it up only to be met with a roadblock.

To explain this roadblock, I have to first offer a bit of insight into Amazon’s KDP Select program, which all of my ebooks are currently enrolled in.  It’s a program set up with the intention of helping authors get more exposure, and offers the free book promotion tool to use.  Enrollment periods last for 90 days, and each period for my books are currently set to end on different days.

So, with that said, I tried to set up this new promotion only to learn that Light of Dawn was inexplicably ineligible for it.  I scratched my head and stared at the screen.  The reason it was ineligible seemed to be in error; KDP was telling me to cancel the countdown deal set up for the book, but …  well, I hadn’t actually set up any countdown deals.

Curious indeed. Continue reading “Light of Dawn Book Sale Canceled”

The Crucible Book Four: Fallen Hearts

So!  As it turns out, I actually finished the cover for my fourth book a little early, and in light of that development, I thought I would go ahead and make the official announcement:  Fallen Hearts is the next book in The Crucible Series!  :)

Most humans live in blissful ignorance of the supernatural, unable to see what they don’t believe exists. Such used to be the lot of Stephan Forrester, a normal mortal leading a regular life, at least until the day vampires abducted him. With his family murdered in the attack, Stephan finds himself alone and dying of an obscure, incurable illness contracted in the vampires’ lair.

Using what time he has left to seek justice, Stephan sets out to eliminate the offenders until only one remains. However, locating this final target means doing something he doesn’t think possible—actually working with a vampire.

Entombed against her will and forced to hibernate for seventy years, Maddox only awakens when a mortal with a vendetta frees her from the grave. He needs help locating the same vampire who buried her alive, and ironically, she senses a connection to her human savior in the form of a blood link. But Stephan’s intense hatred for vampires makes honoring that link impossible.

Even so, Maddox is unlike any vampire Stephan’s ever encountered. As charming and intelligent as she is beautiful, she reminds him of what it means to actually live, mending his wounded heart. In turn, Maddox finds it hard to separate from Stephan, or resist the passionate responses he elicits, and their unexpected bond strengthens as time goes on.

But time is the one luxury Stephan doesn’t have, and saving him from his illness could prove fatal to them both.

As always, I may end up tweaking a few things here or there before the book’s release because, again, I’m still pretty early on into writing.  So I thought it was a good idea to mention that this won’t exactly be available in the realm of soon.  But it’s coming, oh yes!  :D

There’s also no excerpts to share yet, but I’ll get to it as soon as I have something decidedly delectable to provide!

I hope everyone’s having a great Memorial Day Weekend!  Cheers!  :D

What’s Next?

So I decided to make a quick update here just to say that woo, April’s been a busy month! Lots going on, and it’s been great! Mostly, these things have to do with website updates (which are going smoothly) and getting my facebook page edited, yada yada, lots of little things here and there.

But I really wanted to come by and comment on the fourth book coming soon in my paranormal romance series. I only have a working title for it so far, and I haven’t written up any blurbs yet to post, so I’m not going to be revealing too much information here. In fact, progress is going somewhat slowly at the moment if only because I’ve been so busy with other things (both writing and non-writing related). But I’m happy to say this book is going to (finally lol) dive into The Crucible itself a little more and offer some information on the way in which the divinians work.

Also vampires. Did I mention vampires? :D

Lastly, I’m still proofing Light of Dawn’s paperback version, and it’s almost ready!

So expect more updates in the near future, and thanks again for being so awesome! Cheers! :D

The Long Silence–Oh, and Blue Moon’s in paperback! :)

So, I’ve been meaning to get over here and post for, well, it’s definitely been a while. I look forward to the day that real world problems end, or at least get cleared up enough that I have all the time in the world to do absolutely nothing but write, post to my blog, and work on my author website. Because yeah, the website is still in the works.

But not all of this long silence has been spent taking care of real life drama. Some of it was used for a much needed break. Sadly, because one can’t actually be “fired” from their job as a self employed author, at least, not in a technical sense, writing was the thing I had to give up for a while before I either A. Had a burn out, or B. Spontaneously combusted.

So! Here I am, and as you can see from the title, I do have updates to share! Firstly, Blue Moon is finally available in paperback! Yay! I did my best to make the paperback as cheap as possible, but I will admit, it came out being more expensive than I’d hoped =|! I only have so much control over the pricing, however, and the good news is that judging by my proof books, it’s made of top quality material!

As a quick aside, there’s nothing like seeing your work in print! To celebrate, I’m going to put up a promo of Blue Moon in ebook format in the coming days, so keep your eyes peeled! :D

Second update: Light of Dawn will be joining Blue Moon in paperback soon as well! I’ve already received my first proof of it, and I’m very happy with the results! Sadly, I have no clue as to when Strange Brew might be added to the list, but I can say that it will get there!

The last update of any importance is that I am working on the fourth book in The Crucible series now. It doesn’t have a title yet, however, so it’s definitely in the infancy of its development, meaning I can’t even guess at a time frame for when it’ll be out. But if anyone wanted any hold-me-over information, I might say that the plot is vampire-heavy. :D

Anyway, thanks for being so patient with me everyone! Happy Easter (belated anyway, and also, if you actually celebrate it) and try not to overeat the chocolates!

Cheers! :D

Strange Brew Now Available!

Feeling out of touch with her magical gifts, Aislinn Carmichael is a witch seeking a means of restoring her ability to its fullest potential. Despite the warnings of family and friends, the endeavor inevitably drives her to accept the initiation trial of a witch coven called The Trine.

Their test demands the capture of a supernatural creature, a task Aislinn has little doubt she can accomplish with relative ease. But of all the potentially benign creatures she could’ve snared, none other than a feral werewolf stumbles into her trap. Making matters worse is The Trine’s intentions for her dangerous captive, forcing Aislinn to release him and potentially risk retaliation.

But vengeance is the farthest thing from the werewolf’s mind.

Troy Ashland is a werewolf standing at death’s door, slowly losing his humanity until there’s nothing left but savage instincts. It’s a process all werewolves face, and the only thing that can appease his restless beast is his mate. So when word arrives from an oracle saying to travel to the Southern US to find her, he’s on the next flight out.

After his arrival in Arkin City, the last thing Troy expects is to be caught in a magical trap. But all is forgiven with one glimpse of his temporary jailor, who turns out to be the very woman he was searching for. Still, the task of winning her is surprisingly difficult. Not only is Aislinn inexplicably resisting their attraction, but The Trine won’t leave well enough alone …
